the expert in fire-resistant entrances
For many companies and institutions, the entrance to their premises reflects the image of their organisation, meaning it has to be welcoming. At the same time employees and visitors must be safe - even if a fire were to break out. aalbers|wico - the specialist in structural fire security - can help you combine these two functions. We manufacture, supply and install all the components needed to create a fire-resistant entrance. If you wish, they can also be offered in combination with intruder-, ballistic- and blast-resistant properties.
tested in practice
The resistance value of our entrances has not only been calculated on paper – it has been tested in practice too. At our own test centre we can see how the materials used stand up to the toughest of conditions. We make use of a fire test furnace for this.
Our entrances are based on the standards NEN 6075, 6068 as well as 6069, and EN 1634, 1364, 13501 and 15269, but we can also go one step further. If stipulated in the Schedule of Requirements, we can supply a entrance offering the actual level of resistance you need. The official standards form the starting point here, but the entrance undergoes further testing on the basis of additional criteria.

We test the fire resistance of all our entrances in our own test centre in accordance with the methods described in the applicable standards NEN 6069 and EN 1634. This is made possible with the help of facilities including a test furnace.

The resistance class of fire-resistant entrances is broadly defined on the basis of two factors: the function of the entrance (e.g. supporting, separating, insulating, etc.) and the length of time for which the entrance is able to maintain this function when exposed to fire.
